Clarksville is nestled in the middle of what is known as Old West Austin. The neighborhood is bounded by West Lynn on the east, Mopac on the west, 10th Street on the south and Waterston on the north.

Dating back to the 1870's, Clarksville is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Austin and has been on the National Register of Historic Places since the late Seventies. Two historic landmarks are located in Clarksvile: the Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church and the Haskell House. Many homes in the neighborhood are historic as well.

  • CCDC Meetings
    • The CCDC board of directors meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every month except for December. Meetings begin at 6:30PM and are held at the Pauline Brown Clarksville Neighborhood Center, 1807 West 11th Street. Board discussions include neighborhood issues and concerns. All neighborhood residents are invited to attend.

  • Clarksville Walking Tour Brochure. Coming soon!!!
    • Board members and neighborhood volunteers are putting the finishing touches on the brochure, which should be available in early 2011. Thanks to David Mider with Blueplate Design for designing a beautiful brochure. David and his family live on Toyath.

  • Annual Ice Cream Social
    • Every Summer, the CCDC hosts an ice cream social for the neighborhood. At the Social, neighborhood residents enter their homemade ice creams in a competition to win the coveted Golden Scoop Award for the Best Ice Cream in Clarksville.

  • Potlucks in the Park
    • Each Spring and Fall, the CCDC hosts a potluck dinner at Mary Frances Baylor Park. The potlucks provide opportunities for Clarksville residents to meet new neighborhoods, catch up with old friends, and eat great food.

  • Family Fun Fest
    • The Clarksville Community Development Corporation sponsors an annual Family Fun Fest on the grounds of the Pauline Brown Clarksville Neighborhood Center April 22nd from 1-5pm. The Fest features a silent auction, artisan fair, fun games for kids, pet contests and a pet parade, live music and great food.
